Mission Statement of Funakoshi Karate Student Fund Inc
To ensure that all student members of Funakoshi Karate get access to club activities outside of ‘normal training’ at ‘affordable’ rates. The organisation and execution of extra activities, including fundraising, will be conducted professionally. Over time, the professional image and conduct of Funakoshi Karate will be world’s ‘best practice’.
Objectives of Funakoshi Karate Student Fund Inc
- To help organise karate training camps, karate tournaments and training functions outside of ‘normal’ training
- To organise / coordinate fund-raising events for the Funakoshi Karate Student Fund
- To ensure that no member of the Committee profits from funds raised for the Funakoshi Karate Student Fund
- To subsidise (at the discretion of the Committee) costs associated with:
- Travel for national and international instructors
- Guest instructors’ fees
- Entry fees and travelling costs of karate tournaments
- Senior grade (Black Belt) examination fees
- Karate training camps
- Trophies and special event certificates
- Other expenses deemed appropriate by the Committee
Membership of Funakoshi Karate Student Fund Inc
All practising members (students) of Funakoshi Karate Australia qualify for ‘automatic’ membership of the Funakoshi Karate Student Fund, and are entitled to the benefits of the Funakoshi Karate Student Fund as defined under the Objectives (Article 3) of the association. There are no membership fees as such; the association finances its objectives through fundraising activities coordinated by the Fundraising Committee.Committee of Funakoshi Karate Student Fund Inc
The business activities of the association shall be conducted be the Fundraising Committee comprising the following officers:- President
- Vice president
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Up to 8 Additional (Floor) members
Officers shall be elected (or re-elected) at the annual general meeting held in August/September.
The Fundraising Committee shall meet as often as is necessary to conduct the business of the Funakoshi Karate Student Fund Inc.
The quorum for a Fundraising Committee meeting shall be four members (of which at least two are office bearers).
